Baby Cache's Birthday! (What a day!)

A week ago today was my baby boy's birthday. I am going to tell the story of how my precious boy was born. I started having contractions at 9:00 pm on Tuesday Feb. 9th and we went to the Tremonton Hospital at 1:15 am on Wednesday Feb. 10th.

This is me still smiling, at this point I have no clue what the day was going to be like.

At 6:00 am they put me on Pitosen to help me dilate faster. They broke my water at Noon and I got an epidural shortly after. At 6:00 pm they took me off the Pitosen because it was putting a lot of stress on the baby. They put me back on it at 7:00 pm and I has having really bad back contractions and only dilated to a 7. They checked me every hour for the next 3 hours and at 9:50 pm I was only dilated to an 8. The doctor asked how I felt about a C-section and I told him I didn't want one. He said he needed to talk it over with the nurses and that Marc and I needed to talk about it and we would decide for sure by 10:00 pm. I broke down crying and within a few minutes the baby's heart rate dropped and they couldn't get it back up. The doctor looked at me and said "Allison I think we got our answer, we need to get this baby out right now." At this point I was completely exhausted and I knew the baby had to be as well, so we decided it was the right thing for us to go through with the C-section. Everyone immediately went into emergency mode and started getting ready for the surgery.

This is Dr. Marc all dressed and ready for the surgery.

Me on oxygen completely exhausted and extremely emotional but ready to hear my baby cry.

Me during surgery in a lot of pain but I endured it for my baby.

10:44 pm Cache Lyman Christensen was born!
He weighted 7 lbs and 9 oz and was 20 inches long.

I called my mom as soon as I found out we were going to have an emergency C-section and asked her to be there when we got out. She came up and held him until I woke up from being knocked out. I wanted to be alert until I heard my baby cry. Cache was so bright eyed waiting for me to wake up.

The first time I got to see and hold my baby!
Cache falling asleep in my arms after the first time he ate.

We had a long hard day but Heavenly Father blessed us with good health and the ability and strength for all of us to get through the rough day. We are so grateful for all of our many blessings and for the great family we now are.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

Well we are in the hospital right now and luckily the hospital has WiFi (yes we have wireless internet in Tremonton believe it or not). Everything is going okay, slowly but surely this baby will get here. Allison has been having steady contractions since 9:30 p.m. on the 9th, last we checked it was 9:30 a.m. on the 10th and she was only dilated at a 1. I always said I want a laid back baby, but this kid needs to get a move on it. We will update with pictures soon (hopefully).
